Education and Career Development enables youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career. The following programs aim to promote Educational and Career Development:
Power Hour
An educational enhancement program for members ages 6 - 12 that encourages them to be more self-directed learners. During Power Hour, homework help and tutoring is provided through enrichment and reinforcement activities. The Coca-Cola Company sponsors Power Hour.
Project 3.0
Designed with the goal of getting every Challengers member age 10-17 to achieve a 3.0 GPA or above, Project 3.0 is an Educational Support Program which provides incentives, tutoring, skills-building and mentorship to help children succeed in school and learn the value of achievement. Features include high-yield learning and leisure activities, parent and adult volunteer involvement, collaboration with schools and specifically, peer-to-peer mentoring that encourages everyone to participate.
Teen Technology Center
Teaches youth ages 13-17 computer technology basics, reading, math, writing, spelling, how to fill out applications for PSAT, ACT college tests and more, which create opportunities for career development, college preparedness, and academic enrichment.
Adventures in Science
Designed to promote science in a positive and exciting manner that will keep youth ages 6 - 17 interested, as well as motivate them about the various forms of science. Youth are taught the fundamentals of science through activities such as Mars Rover Program, Earth Sciences, Biological Sciences, various science based programs on the computers in science lab, lab experiments, field trips and guest speakers.
